Meet Robin Perry
“Curiosity sparks learning. I thrive when I’m helping groups learn from one another, or in an individual conversation exploring challenges and solutions.“
MY BELIEFS & APPROACH ON LIFE AND BUSINESS
I have a strong belief that we can all “be better.” We do this when we learn more about ourselves, and about others – increasing our emotional intelligence. Learning opens new pathways.
I think everyone needs to believe in themselves – and this is a struggle for many. Balancing self-confidence and humility leads to great results.
I am an optimist, I have a “can do” attitude, I like change, and I like people. This combination means that I believe the people I work with can succeed if they put in the needed work.
My Story: A Few Professional & Personal Highlights

We all have a story – highlights of our life – key moments that define us – challenges we face and overcome. These stories evolve and gel, underscoring our values and crafting our journey. I’m most interested in hearing about your journey – but here are some highlights of mine.
I’m a South Carolina transplant. After raising two children in upstate New York, my husband and I were interested in sunnier days and shorter winters. A great move.
In the Albany, New York Area I built a consulting practice with a wonderful group of colleagues. The focus was on people leadership and team development. My “claim to fame” was the creation of a public leadership development program that continues to flourish.
Over time, my passion has changed from classroom type training to coaching and working with teams and small groups of leaders. I find that when working with individuals and teams, I can focus on their specific needs – working with them to find their own solutions, and helping them learn along the way.
Learning is a big part of my story. I am truly a lifelong learner, and I believe change and challenge provide great opportunities for learning. With a few highlights below you’ll see that over the years I’ve often brought on my own change and challenges – and I’ve learned a lot!
After graduating from the University of New Hampshire, I initially took a “safe job” back in Albany – but it wasn’t where I wanted to be. Two years in, I quit and moved to Boston. I found a marketing job that involved regular travel. I traveled much of the east coast – solo. A huge learning experience!
After meeting my husband, we moved to Castleton, NY, to raise our family. I transferred my marketing skills to training, and built a training department at an area HMO – Community Health Plan (CHP).
CHP was purchased by Kaiser Permenante. I had an opportunity to move into a Human Resources leadership position – excited to learn more. Ultimately I moved into a role leading the day to day HR operation until the close of our division – a tremendous challenge. Over a 12 month period of time we parted with 4,000 employees. To this day I can say this closure was done well – thanks to a fantastic team and good leadership. It was from this experience I knew I had knowledge and learnings to share with others – and I saw the importance of developing strong leaders and teams. My consulting work began!
What I know: we all face change and challenges. The key is learning from those experiences and applying your learning to the next situation. Working with a coach can help you learn more, and get through a challenge faster and smoother. I’d like to be that coach!
Robin’s coaching has helped me grow, develop, and gain valuable insight from a professional and personal perspective.
